Harvest Report - 1911

An early vintage with excellent conditions. Warm spring, early flowering, and a hot July led to an early harvest under perfect skies. Mavrodaphne is ripe and generous. White wines are well constructed and aromatic. A year of bold, expressive wines with charm and longevity. In 1911 Achaia Clauss introduced the first steam engine with a separate boiler. This year marks the beginning of mechanization, replacing manual operation of grape crushers
